Skin Care- Smincare

Skin care has always been something that I never really thought about; wash, moisturize  and done.  From my teen years until recently skincare has been somewhat of a basic routine, then I stopped and looked in the mirror.  My $10 cleanser and $12 moisturizer aren’t doing me any favors and thus a new adventure was started, my entrance into the world of skin care.  I have been trying oil washing which is pretty much what it sounds like – I rub coconut oil onto my face with small circular rotations and then steam with a hot towel.  In theory this works, the main idea is that oil breaks down oil and it does however at this point my skin needs more.  So I began to research other skin care routines, thus the confusion began.  There are hundred if not thousands of various product combinations available from cheap price points to the more spectacular.

Let’s face it – while this set may be the best thing since sliced bread, I just don’t see paying almost $300 for this kit

but on the other hand is this $10 set really going to do what I need?!

The fact is I am lost as a goose people, I have no clue what to do or buy.  So I looked to reviews, online beauty gurus and just pretty much everywhere to find a skin care system that will be affordable and work.  My skin isn’t acne prone or particularly bad, just dull and in need of some pore reduction, but I could not seem to find that magic system.  It seems as though most people assemble routines with products from various line and brands which seems to work for them but still has me at a loss.  How do you know they work well together, do they cancel each other out, why did you choice one brand over another?!  Greek people its still all Greek.  So here is what I have decided, I will try one value set for the next 4 weeks – after that I will see what I like and don’t like and will share my results and thoughts here.

This is the set which I will start my experiment with:

This Ren Essentials Skin Care set has what seems to be the basics of skin care and at a $25 price for the value set at Sephora I am willing to give it a try.

The set includes:
– 1.7 oz Rosa Centifolia™ 3-in-1 Cleansing Water
– 0.34 oz Vita Mineral™ Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil
– 0.5 oz Evercalm™ Global Protection Day Cream
– 0.1 oz Vita Mineral™ Active 7 Eye Gel
– Travel bag

and has pretty good reviews.

If you have some suggestions, please leave them here in the comments below!  Thanks.

  1. Recently I’ve heard something about our skin products. If you couldn’t eat it, you should not put it on your skin. That includes bug spray and sunscreen, everything that touches our skin is absorbed in the body. I haven’t gotten to that level but it makes sense. Good luck on your journey!
